About Coach Mike...

I am a RRCA Certified Running Coach and USATF Certified Coach offering coaching services for all different fitness levels, from your first 5K to ultra marathons.  I love to run and love to get healthy. I love running marathons and ultra marathons.  I got into running because I wasn't happy with myself.  I had let myself get to 235 lbs and felt terrible.  My first run was on May 11, 2011 of 1.9 miles and I thought I was going to die. At that point the journey began. I started running as a way to get in shape and lose some weight. I lost 60 lbs and haven't looked back since. In less than 2 years of running I ran and finished a 100 mile ultra marathon.  In 2013 I qualified for Boston  twice in 2 weeks, finished my first 100 mile ultra marathon, ran back to back marathons and was featured in an article in Runners World Magazine about running streaks.  I had an 1140 day run streak from November 23, 2011-January 5, 2015. I ran and finished the Boston Marathon in 2015 and 2016.  I'm a Run Nerd!!

Running Accomplishments:
  • 2016 - 4th 100 Mile Ultra Marathon Finish, Pistol 100-19:40:30 New PR by 5 hours and 57 minutes-8th overall and 2nd in age group.
  • 2015 - 3rd 100 Mile Ultra Marathon Finish, Pistol 100
  • 2014 - 2nd 100 Mile Ultra Marathon Finish, Nanny Goat 100
  • 2014 - Half Marathon PR of 1:28 and a top 500 finisher. One America 500 Festival Half Marathon (Indy Mini)
  • 2014 - Hendricks Co. Park to Park Ultra 2014 (45 miles) finished in 6:53:20, 3rd overall.
  • 2014 - Howl at the Moon 8 hour ultra 2014 finished with 50.35 miles in 8 hours, 3rd overall.
  • 2014 - Indianapolis Monumental Marathon 3:09:48, Boston Qualifying time for 2016.
  • 2013 - 1st 100 Mile Ultra Marathon Finisher, Indiana Trail 100
  • 2013 - 2nd in age group and Boston Qualifying time at Indianapolis Marathon of 3:14
  • 2013 - Back to back marathon finisher (Saturday and Sunday Marathons with times of 3:14 BQ and 3:32)
  • 2013 - Boston Qualifying time at the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon 3:09 and took 40 minutes off my time from the previous year.
  • 2013 - Huff 50K finished in 4:34:14 (a 59 minute improvement from the previous year)
  • Running streak that lasted 1140 days.
  • Featured in an article in Runners World Magazine on running streaks.  
  • 22 marathons and 16 ultra's completed for a total of 38.
